John Blakely, Superintendent/Principal
The 2019-20 school year has begun and Bridgeville School is flourishing! We currently have 43 students enrolled kindergarten through eighth grade. We have a new 6,7,8th grade teacher, Mr. Matthew Torres, and a new classroom aide, Ms. Gabby Wotherspoon, in the K-1st classroom. Our new playground equipment is here and installed thanks to the efforts of Frieda Smith, Jessica Springer, Chantal Campbell, and a host of gracious volunteers. In addition, we are continuing our Resource program, Speech and Language support, counseling services, music program, a revitalized sports program, numerous field trips including an overnight science field trip to Wolf Creek, and the traditional Dell’Arte two-week residency in May/June.
You may have heard, as word is spreading. Bridgeville School will have a general obligation bond proposal on the March 2020 ballot. The bond is for 1.4 million dollars to address facility, water, technology, waste disposal, solar, communications, refrigeration, and transportation needs that the district is financially unable to address. These are much needed repairs and up grades that our school desperately needs.
We are upbeat and confident about Bridgeville School’s prospects for the future. As our enrollment grows we are able to offer more and more exciting programs and activities for our students.
A heartfelt thank-you to the community for supporting for your school!
